Mission

This mission of peace was inspired by Our late Holy Father, Saint John Paul II. In his World Day of Peace Message in 1995, he invited women "to become teachers of peace with their whole being and in all their actions. In order to be a teacher of peace," he said, "a woman must first of all nurture peace within herself."

That word "peace" continues to resonate with me--it speaks to my heart and brings life and hope every day. The Spirit behind the word beckons, "Come, follow me."

Pope Francis said forcefully: "it is neither a culture of confrontation nor a culture of conflict which builds harmony within and between peoples, but rather a culture of encounter and a culture of dialogue; this is the only way to peace."

I invite you to join me in this mission of becoming women of peace.

"Help us, Mary, ... to dedicate ourselves each day to building in every situation an authentic culture of encounter and peace. Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!"  Pope Francis
